The Living Quietness

The whole world is your home. I am the Mother of the wicked, I am the Mother of the virtuous. Whenever you are in distress, say that 'I have a Mother'. Sri Sarada Devi.

A fire story and a wholistic society.

I do not remember where and when I experienced the following scenario. Almost everyone in the place gathered knows the person as a smoker. Everyone was engaged, present to participating. At an instant following was the ritual to light the lamp but no one could find anything like a match stick or so on to light it. Suddenly everyone looks at him which takes him by surprise. Everyone feels relieved to borrow the lighter he uses for his cigars and continue with the ritual of lighting the lamp. It is returned to him along with hearts of gratitude.

I now contemplate how that moment was felt by the person. An abundant of unexpected benevolence must then have started filling him. I can only suspect that that moment must have been deep and it very likely began in him a step into his spiritual awakening as a human being of divine potentials.

I once happened to view a recorded video speech of His Holiness the Dalai Lama where in I heard him express the idea that when a society is well steeped in wholism an individual, who makes choices that will bring upon himself only suffering will be carried in the collective's path of wholeness - in such society, it is only a 'little', 'little' (a slide showed a small boy sitting in his mother's lap giggle upon hearing him say this) correction that will be required for the individual who make mistakes while choosing.

On the contrary when a society has been lost into an unwholesome nature, the individuals are birthed as such, and leaders of that society are individuals that belong to that society.

It is my question as to what kind of society that I am living now in? What are the ways that contribute toward a society of wholeness? Will I be able to make way for others for such a society?
