The Living Quietness

The whole world is your home. I am the Mother of the wicked, I am the Mother of the virtuous. Whenever you are in distress, say that 'I have a Mother'. Sri Sarada Devi.

Veganism Or Cow's Milk Consumption?

It is because of the culture I was raised in that I do not take red meat. And I do not wish to stick to any opinion about those who do consume red meat. I want to note here  the tendency to follow vegan or vegetarian diet by increasing number of people today who commit to personal spiritual paths just as I do. Personally I choose to follow vegetarian diet rather than vegan diet, which does not even include milk. I am thankful to Swami Prabhupada for removing my guilt toward consuming cow's milk:
"According to Vedic life and according to all Vedic scriptures, a man should live on fruits and vegetables, for his teeth are made in such a way that these can be very easily eaten and digested. Although it is nature's law that one has to live by eating other living entities, one must use discretion... Milk, for example, is an animal product, the blood of an animal transformed, but the cow delivers more milk than is needed by her calf because milk is intended for man. Man should simply take the milk and let the cows live and thus following nature's law, man will be happy..."

Jasmine

These days when I look at small bottles, I am reminded of Essential Oils. Businesses are growing around the knowledge of how smell can bring in a sense of well being. These businesses give me the feeling that there is in fact a revolution going on right now, a revolution where people care for each other’s wellness.

I remember my childhood days when the essence of these new age movements were common in our everyday life. For example, every evening a vendor would go walking up to every house to sell garlands of freshly plucked jasmine flowers. That women and girls would choose to adorn their braided hair or buns with these flowers was in fact an invitation for auspiciousness to enter their lives.

It is interesting for me to note that the Jasmine essential oil is now being used to alleviate depression!

Death is an event in the field of Consciousness

Even death happens in the "substratum" of Consciousness. Birth and Death may come and go, yet Consciousness is eternally present.

'Grace Light'

The more 'I,I,I' there is inside oneself, the more farther you are from your self - from your body, from your thoughts, from your mind. 'I,I,I' consciousness is the disease and also the cause of mental and physical ailments. 'I,I,I' consciousness cannot be known by oneself, except through grace. Seek for that grace. The grace will show it to you. Siva Baba has called it the 'Grace Light'.
